Starting an Agritourism Operation
The Florida Agritourism Association will help you explore ideas and opportunities to start an agritourism operation on your farm. We will discuss the marriage of Florida’s leading industries- agriculture and tourism- and how agritourism can help you bring more value to your land. We will discuss the agritourism law and liability protections and what is required for farmers to fall under the agritourism statute in Florida. Marketing strategies and ideas will also be shared to help you learn how to run a successful agritourism operation
Lisa Ard, Owner of Sweet South Cottage and Farms, is a founding member of the Florida Agritourism Association. She has run an agritourism operation since 2011. She is also the owner of Cornerstone Strategies Group, a specialized governmental affairs firm.
Lisa’s government expertise was fostered while working nearly ten years in Florida local and state government. This included tenures for Orange County, Florida, the Florida Legislature and the administration of Governor Jeb Bush.
Following her public sector service, Ms. Ard continued working in the political and public policy arenas on behalf of multiple private sector clients.
Ms. Ard holds a master’s degree and a bachelor’s degree, both in Public Administration, from the University of Central Florida.
